How about this for an initiative. The 2020 Power Duathlon series is offering FREE RACE STARTS FOR JUNIORS.
There is a catch however - once the junior has completed the event, they thrown some warm clothes and get stuck into helping out the event crew with the balance of the event production and then pack down.
That’s it.
Race. Work. Go home.
This initiative takes away a small part of the financial burden of racing. We hope that helps and the offer is taken up.
Apart from the obvious benefits of a free entry, there is a also the genuine benefit of learning young that events don’t just magically appear. Producing an event is hard and rewarding work. They also get to reinvest in their own sport – with a small piece of sweat equity.
Race for free, pack down, get a pat on the back. Go home.
