WHAT IF THE EVENT IS CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19 LOCKDOWN CONDITIONS?
All single entry fees will be refunded in full.
For series pass registrations:
If one event is cancelled - one third of your registration fee will be refunded.
If two events are cancelled, two thirds of your registration fee.
If three events are cancelled, 100% of your registration fee will be refunded.
WHAT ARE THE EVENT FEES TO BE ADDED?
A 6% online registration fee.
WHAT ARE THE STRATEGIES FOR COVID-19 LOCKDOWN CONDITIONS.
This event offers 100% reassurance to all competitors that if an event is cancelled due to Covid-19 restrictions, your registration fee will be refunded in full less insurance and online registration fees.
The following applies to the following Covid 19 alert levels:
Level 4 - event cancelled, all entries refunded.
Level 3 - event cancelled, all entries refunded.
Level 2 - the event is a green light. Please refer to level 2 race conditions below.
Level 1 - the event as a green light. Currently, the government Covid-19 website has provided no information on alert level 1. We will update this webpage when level 1 conditions once these have been announced.
WHAT ARE THE SPECIAL CONDITIONS FOR RACING UNDER COVID-19 ALERT LEVEL 2?
1. Special conditions.
This race will have no aid stations. There will be no hydration pre-event - during the event or after the finish line. Please manage your fluid and food intake accordingly.
This event will use multiple wave starts. Please refer to wave starts below.
There will be a merit only prize-giving. There will be no spot prizes and only those that have won a merit prize are encouraged to stay. The event will be timed “live” so competitors will know who the respective age-groups / overall category winners will be. Please refer to prize-giving information below.
Spectators are expected to keep a 2 m social distance at all times.
2. Individual responsibility.
Stay home if you are sick. Do not take part If you have symptoms of cold or flu. Call your doctor or Healthline and get tested.
Good personal hygiene practices should continue – wash and dry your hands before and after activities, cough into elbow and don’t touch your face.
Please respect and acknowledge fellow participants and supporters by engaging in positive social distancing measures.
Additionally (and regrettably), avoid shaking hands or hugging.
3. Prior to race day.
Supporters are welcome and we ask them to observe the same levels of individual responsibility above.
Additionally, for contact tracing purposes - we would like all spectators to please sign in using our online form - by clicking here so we can keep an accurate register of competitors and supporters. This information will be held for four weeks and will only be accessible to health authorities upon request.
4. Arriving to site.
Avoid shaking hands or hugging old friends and competitors, we appreciate this in advance.
We would like all spectators to maintain a 2 m social distance at all times.
At the entry to the hall, we ask every competitor to apply hand sanitiser before collecting their race number.
Please collect your race number - from the respective Hall as normal.
Please rack your bike and try and maintain at least a 1 m distance between you and your fellow competitor.
We ask for all is supporters to please wait outside of transition.
At this point, warmup and go through your prerace routine as normal.
5. Racing conditions.
We anticipate using waves to limit congestion at the start line - please refer to wave starts below.
Upon been called to the start line, please spread out and warmup in a practical manner.
With 60 seconds remaining, we ask all competitors to move forward into a standard prerace start line.
Once the racing begins, forget all about Covid-19. You race as you would race anywhere else – noting, this race is NOT draft legal and on the bike we expect you to maintain a 6 m gap at all times.
6. Post race.
The only changes to post race conditions are that there is no aid station after the finish line and no prize-giving in the traditional sense.
The event is being timed “live” when competitors will see where they placed immediately after finishing.
Age-group and overall winners are encouraged to remain behind to collect their merit awards.
We intend to hold a merit prize-giving as the last competitors cross the line.
